WANT TO BUILD YOUR OWN FIGHTING ROBOT?

No experience necessary — just curiosity and a willingness to have a go!

Ipswich Robotics Sports Group is planning workshops and build days for 2027.

Whether you're completely new to robot building, want to learn new skills, or already have parts and need a helping hand, we'd love to get you involved.

Our workshops will be run by experienced IRSG members who enjoy sharing their knowledge and helping others discover the fun of building and battling robots.

CHOOSE YOUR WORKSHOP

WORKSHOP 1 – BUILD YOUR OWN ANTWEIGHT ROBOT

Build your very own 150g Antweight fighting robot from scratch!

Over four 3-hour workshops, you'll learn how to assemble a two-wheel-drive robot using the components we provide, including a basic radio and receiver.

Best of all, your finished robot is yours to take home!

More advanced workshops may be offered as your skills develop.

WORKSHOP 2 – BUILD AND LEARN WITH OUR ROBOTS

Want to experience building a fighting robot without buying all the parts yourself?

Over four 3-hour workshops, we'll guide you through assembling a robot using components supplied by IRSG.

You'll learn practical building skills and gain confidence working with robot components.

All parts and completed robots remain with IRSG.

WORKSHOP 3 – BRING YOUR OWN PARTS

Already started building a robot but need a helping hand?

Bring along the components you've purchased, and our experienced IRSG members will help guide you through building your own fighting robot.

Perfect for anyone who wants advice, practical help or a little more confidence with their build.
